SPECIALIST MATHS

This year we had asked Mr.Kara to provide us with extra classes with Specialist Maths for an opportunity to get more practice and one-on-one time with himself. While last year’s graduates did give us hints on what to expect from such a request, classes as early as 6:30 am still came as very surprising response. Once a week on a Friday, we would meet up before sunrise in our classroom, cover content, solve questions, and of course enjoy morning tea before the first period. As absurd as it would have sounded, this actually became a key motivator for us to work harder at home and achieve better results. Speaking as a whole, we really wish to thank him for all the effort he put in to help boost our performance and even self-esteem.

MATHEMATICAL METHODS

As the specialist maths students had already been doing so for many weeks, us methods students were very happy to hear that there would also be Maths Methods classes at 6:30 am once a week, for practice and revision. Towards the end of the year, being just after sunrise, we would all rock up feeling fresh and productive; it actually became more beneficial than actual class time. Like the specialist students would have already told us, the amount of revision covered in these sessions was arguably indispensable. But this could not have been done if not for Mr.Mahir who genuinely showed us what it really means to be dedicated to achieve higher scores in any subject once we set our mind upon a goal.
